Will you spend a lot of time in your shed, or will you only use it occasionally? Will it be a workspace, a bedroom, or just a storage area? You will find that issues like a drop in temperatures can cause damage to items you are keeping in the shed or small garage due to condensation. Additionally, not having insulation could mean that you get too cold or too warm in the space.

Should You Choose a Heated or Unheated Shed or Garage?

One of the things you will need to know is the R-value of your garage door. This is a measure of the resistance of heat flow. The R-value needed for your garage door will depend on what you plan to do about heating. If you have a heated shed, you will want to have an R-12 value for the garage door. Do you have a lot of items that you tend to use rarely? These might be items for the summer or maybe for the holidays, such as decorations. Maybe you just have a lot of stuff that you need to store, but you still need to have easy access to reach.

If you are storing them in a small shed, it can sometimes be difficult to get to them without taking out everything. With a nice shed and a sectional garage door, though, it can be much easier. Consider this option.

2. A Nice and Wide Opening

When you have a sectional overhead garage door, the opening will be several feet wider than a standard shed door. This means that you’ll have a far easier time getting large items into and out of the shed. You won’t have to worry about damaging the garage trying to wrangle items through a small space.

Easy Access with a Garage Door Opener

I am a Chef currently building a restaurant. I need one to 3 doors for my space but not for the necessity of driving a car through it. It has to be tall enough for people to walk through but only about 60 inches wide. The other two I will still need to measure but they would be wider. I am located in Prescott Arizona a little less then 2 hours from Phoenix.

Thank you

Chef Ivan Pugh
